| 1. | The objective of the Parade is to foster good relations between the Irish community and the populace of Leeds by year round Irish events culminating in a one-day demonstration of Irish culture, music and dance. |
| 2. | Its’ aim is to bring together all the Irish organisations in Leeds to stage a calendar event for the city which will provide enjoyment and understanding for the whole community.

| 3 | The day will consist of a parade through the city, which will include floats depicting the activities of the participating Irish organisations, followed by a full programme in Millennium Square, or a similar open area accessible to the public, to demonstrate Irish related activities and provide entertainment with Irish music and dancing.

| 4 | The Parade committee are responsible for organising all aspects relating to the Parade. It is to be staged on a convenient date in March as near as possible to St Patrick’s Day. Prior to this date, where possible, the Parade committee will have dinner dance to promote the Day and to start off the proceedings. Throughout the year, the committee will hold Irish events to continue the engagement with the Leeds community

| 5 | Nominations for officers for the committee will be requested prior to, and at, the AGM, from all groups affiliated to the Irish Centre and from interested individuals. |
| 6 | Election of officers will take place at the AGM; posts are to be held for a one year period. If an officer resigns during their term, the committee can co-opt a member, who will be required to serve up to the next AGM.

| 7 | The AGM will be held annually, at which accounts will be available for inspection and acceptance. A copy of the constitution will also be distributed so to make members aware of its contents. Alterations may be made to the rules by majority decision at their AGM.

| 8 | The affairs of the Parade will be controlled by the committee; accurate accounts will be kept by the treasurer and will be available for reasonable inspection by members.

| 9 | A bank account in the Parade’s name will be maintained with at least three signatures of which any two will sign each cheque or mandate. |
| 10 | Decisions will be made on the basis of a simple majority vote. The Chair shall be entitled to an additional casting vote in the event of a tied vote.

| 11 | In the event of the Parade committee ceasing to exist any funds or assets will be shared among those clubs and groups who have had an active part in past Parades. |
| 12 | 12. The Parade committee endeavour to treat each individual fairly, regardless of their colour, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation. |
